Pottery - Halistra, Skye (2000) The plan of this pottery is one continuous large space, interrupted by changes in height, half partitions and a large display table. Despite being small this gives a surprising feeling of space, which is increased by the display and storage shelves being carefully designed along the exterior walls. The building is designed for maximum enjoyment for the potter who works at a large bay window in full view of the visitor who has access to all parts of the building.Externally the materials are a combination of slate, stone, rendered block, glass and steel to give an expressive but simple composition. |
