Consultation PDF Print E-mail

ConsultationDualchas believes in Enquiry by Design as pioneered by the Prince's Foundation. This brings together all the stakeholders to produce a shared vision for a development, including the planning authorities.

Consultation has been recognised by the Scottish Government as key to delivering successful sustainable communities. It is through this consulation process that planning hurdles can be overcome and more beautiful, inspiring places can be created.

Consultation could involve attendance at open days/project events or working as a team to minimise disruption to the surrounding area.

We are working with several groups develop community consultation and participation strategies. This includes mailshots, design for real workshops, drop-in sessions, site walks, and local skills audits. We firmly believe that by incorporating community input at an early stage of the project we can minimize problems later on, and by developing a relationship of trust with the community, especially in regard to design quality, we can help to foster a long-term relationship between developers such as housing associations and local communities, facilitating future developments.
