Machrie Hotel, Isle of Islay (2007) This multi-million pound project for 16 high-end luxury holiday apartments on the Island of Islay has recently been granted full planning permission. Set within the grounds of the famous Machrie Hotel and golf course, the units are landscaped into the rolling countryside, following the natural contours of the land. Turf roofs and stone dykes will make the buildings almost invisible from the hotel; glass walling on the shore side will open the rooms up to panoramic views across to the west of Scotland. |
