In a leading article on the emerging architecture of Scotland the small black house at Clashnessie is used to highlight the simple vernacular aesthetic which Dualchas is pioneering in rural Scotland.
Orkney has the opportunity to set an example to the rest of Scotland in how to develop and sustain its communities. That was the view of Skye architect Neil Stephen of Dualchas Building Design who was speaking at a housing event in Kirkwall last week about rural planning and design.
