An Doras Dearg, Lower Breakish. (2006)

Sited right on the sea by Ashaig beach, Skye, this family home makes the most of its location with spectacular views from the interior of the house on three sides. The whole of the ground floor of the main building is living space, with the bedrooms and utility room in an extension to the rear.

American black walnut has been used for floors and surfaces throughout the house, with a curved plaster ceiling in the living room concealing a deep Glulam (glued laminated structural timber) ridge beam. The exterior of the main build is white render, the rear extension is clad in larch. Heating is provided by an electric underfloor heating system and a Morso stove. The house is highly insulated with Super Low-E glazing to all windows.
