Cladich - Caenmore, Argyll (2007)

This house lies on a plot by the banks of the River Cladich near Loch Awe in Argyll, surrounded by trees and with views to the fields beyond.

It features a striking and beautifully-conceived living area, with quality of space chosen over quantity of rooms. The kitchen and dining area are open-plan to the double-height living space. There is one bedroom and a wetroom on the ground floor, with a bathroom and second bedroom upstairs, overlooking the living space.

The mood is entirely contemporary, from the Pronorm German kitchen to the pristine bathrooms, yet there are subtly rustic connotations in the the wide plank untreated oak flooring and the log-burning stove.
