Tomdoun, Invergarry (2008)

Taking into consideration the natural topography of the site a split level ground floor plan was developed to contain one bedroom, a shower room, an open plan kitchen and dining space and a large sitting room.  The first floor contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a large landing that the clients use as additional sitting space.

The client's had a particular interest in sustainable construction - the building is therefore oriented to maximise passive solar gain, whilst also containing high levels of insulation and an exhaust air heat pump providing heat and hot water - there was no requirement for space heating on the first floor.

A simple aesthetic is maintained throughout the house with elm worktops to the kitchen and utility, ceramic tiles to the ground floor and oak flooring to the first floor.
