Townhouse - Twickenham, London (2002)

This luxury townhouse was never built as the local council's tree officer was concerned about the proximity of a sycamore tree.

On the ground floor is a swimming pool, as well as a bedroom for a teenage son.  The whole of the first floor is given over to a kitchen/dining/living room.  At the top is a fabulous bedroom with terraces to catch the sun all through the day.

Although the design is modern it is carefully proportioned to tie in with the Victorian buildings on the street.  The planners admired the design but the tree officer had the final say.
