This family home is currently under construction beneath a dramatic escarpment, overlooking Loch Greshornish. The house will sit discreetly in the landscape, black-clad and perched on a linear retaining wall contouring the sloping site.

The design comprises of three rectilinear volumes, collected under a monopitch roof of black zinc; the living area and guest bedroom, the main bedroom and ensuite, and a workshop and garage for two motorbikes.

A tunnel bisects the plan, leading onto a cantilevered metal deck overhanging the foreshore. A heavy corten shutter can roll across the mouth of the tunnel to shelter against winter storms.
