Neil and Rory talked through a selection of projects, expalining how context drives the design, whether it is in a crofting settlement on Skye, a renovation in the Scilly Isles, or new build house within the fabric of a historic village in Fife.
The projects discussed include Achnacloich, Ord Steading, Culnacnoc, 5 Walls and Bryher. All of the designs started with an instinctive response after a site visit, when ideas first emerge. As Neil and Rory explain, having a clear idea, and then being able to carry it through and articulate it in the architecture can be the key to a successful project.
