Designed to make the most of its remarkable setting on Guernsey's south east coast, the house is carefully arranged around a series of courtyards that shape the experience of arriving, living and spending time outdoors. These spaces range from sheltered entrance courts to private gardens for entertaining, while carefully aligned views maintain a constant connection to the English Channel, with Jersey and France beyond.

Although contemporary in its expression, the long, low form draws on the character of the local landscape. Its horizontal proportions respond to the pattern of narrow fields and hedgerows that define this part of the island, helping the building sit naturally within its surroundings.
